Tracey Emin, Channel 4 Interview, 2002

Although not directly public art, British artist Tracey Emin, was nominated for the grandiose Turner Prize with the Tate Museum and London and later was removed from the competition due to the content of her installation, My Bed. This Channel 4 interview was headline news during the times of the Turner Prize decision-making, and some thought Emin's drunken stupor and speech was a planned performance in itself. Relating to the public notion that this is a media form, art is hidden in this performance, whether we agree or not, but according to the Guardian, Emin is making her point known to the institution of the Turner Prize.
