Since we just had a huge test on modern history, I thought it would be fitting to bring the history of performance art further back into the past. Hugo Ball's infamous Dada performance, Karawane Reading (1920) challenges the canon of art history. This video is not the original performance, but a reading by Marie Osmound. Regardless, you get to hear the consonants that he spoke at the exhibition. The beginnings of performance art go farther back than this, but here is where we get more of a similar idea to what we are seeing in today's contemporary world.
